Delhi is the capital of India. The city is spread over 42.7 sq. Km. The city model was designed by Edwin Lutyens of the United Kingdom. That is why Delhi was also known as “Lutyens Delhi”. These towns have British style and designs.

There are two main routes in the city. They are Rajpath and Janpath. The Rajpath or Raja Path is situated from the Rashtrapati Bhavan to the India Gate, Janpath (formerly “Rani Path”) starting at Connaught Circus and going to Shantipat.

Shantipath is home to 19 overseas embassies and can be described as the largest “embassy area” in India
The city is famous for its wide paths, vegetation, and many other gardens.

Rajiv Chowk, known as Connaught Place, is the largest commercial center and financial center of North India, located in the heart of Delhi. Barakhamba and Chanakipuri are also some of the prominent trade firms around the region.

Delhi city is the second richest city in India after Mumbai. The city has a total of 18 billionaires and 23,000 millionaires. Delhi ‘s private wealth is $ 450 billion.

Airport Info

Indira Gandhi International Airport is the airport in Delhi.The airport is named after former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.This is the busiest airport in India in terms of passenger traffic since 2009.In 2015, it crossed Mumbai in the list of congested Airports in India by It Cargo Traffic.According to the plan expansion program, the airport will increase airport capacity to handle 100 million passengers by 2030.

The airport was first operated by the Indian Air Force. Later it was run by the Airport Authority of India. In May 2006, the operation of the airport was moved to Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), a consortium led by GMR Group.
The IGI Airport serves as the headquarters or center for many Indian airlines like Air India, Air India Regional, IndiGo, Jet Airways, SpiceJet, GoAir, and Vista. About 80 airlines serve at this airport.

At present, there are two passenger terminals, special Haz terminal and cargo terminal at the airport. Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGII) Airport, the only airport in the Asia Pacific that achieved carbon neutral status.

Tourism Info

Delhi has historic and modern tourist attractions. Delhi, Qutub Complex, Red Fort and Humayun’s Tomb are also the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. These are the best examples of Indo-Islamic architectures.

The India Gate is one of the leading buildings in Delhi, built in 1931 by the British Indian Army soldiers who died during the First World War.

There are many places of worship in Delhi. Akshardham is one of the largest Hindu temple complexes in the world and is a major tourist attraction.Lal Mandir, Lakshminarayana Temple, Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, Lotus Temple, Jama Masjid and Iskone Temple are other prominent religious sites.

All types of shops in Delhi can be found in Connaught Place, Chandni Chowk, Sarojini Nagar, Khan Market and Dilli Haat in major retail markets in Delhi.Main shopping malls include Citywalk, DLF Promenade, DLF Emporio, Metro Walk and Ansar Plaza.
