Air India Ltd is an Indian government-owned company. It serves domestic and international destinations. Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi, Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport in Mumbai is the headquarters of Air India.
Air India’s market share of international travelers traveling from India is 18.6%. Air India carries passengers to 60 international destinations across four continents. In addition, the third largest domestic airline carrier for domestic passenger transportation.
The airline was founded in 1932 by J. R. D. Tata, by Tata Airlines Company. After World War II, it became a public limited company. Later it became Air India.
Air India runs its subsidiaries Alliance Air and Air India Express to domestic and Asian destinations.
Air India’s mascot includes Maharaja (Chakravarti) and Cocker veil map swans.
Joureny With VIjayawada Airport
Air India launched its journey with Vijayawada Airport with Delhi Flight. By the time the ATR-72 planes were introduced to the Gannavaram airport, 120 seats capacity was introduced.
Air India and its subsidiaries Alliance Air and Air India Express are running services from Vijayawada to Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam.
